Manuela George-Izunwa

Hon. Barr. Manuela Izunwa was a one time Rivers State Commissioner of Women Affairs (2007 - 2009) in the Amaechi led government via her appointment by the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. In her tenure, she campaigned for better treatment of widows, economic empowerment of women, prevention of abuse, improvements to health and girl child education. She also initiated several projects for the advancement of girls and women in the state. She currently serves as a board member of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).
