Beschreibung | Irina Volynets (Russian: Ирина Владимировна Волынец; born August 2, 1978, in the city of Kazan, Tatar ASSR, in the Soviet Union) is a Russian journalist, human rights activist, and leader of the National Parents Committee social movement. In 2017, she became a candidate in the 2018 Russian presidential election, but withdrew her candidacy in favor of Vladimir Putin. In 2020, Volynets was elected as a member to the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. She was also appointed Commissioner for the Rights of the Child in the Republic of Tatarstan. |
