Beschreibung | Alexandre Dumas (UK: /ˈdjuːmɑː, dʊˈmɑː/, US: /duːˈmɑː/; franz: [alɛksɑ̃dʁ dymɑ]; geb. Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie ([dymɑ davi də la pajət(ə)ʁi]), 24. Juli 1802 - 5. Dezember 1870), auch bekannt als Alexandre Dumas père (wobei père französisch für "Vater" ist, um ihn von seinem Sohn Alexandre Dumas fils zu unterscheiden), war ein französischer Schriftsteller. Seine Werke wurden in viele Sprachen übersetzt und er ist einer der meistgelesenen französischen Autoren. Viele seiner historischen Abenteuerromane wurden ursprünglich als Fortsetzungsromane veröffentlicht, darunter Der Graf von Monte Cristo, Die drei Musketiere, Zwanzig Jahre danach und Der Vicomte von Bragelonne: Zehn Jahre später. Seine Romane wurden seit Anfang des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts in fast 200 Filmen verfilmt. |
