Er war Mitbegründer des Softwareunternehmens Opsware, das er später an Hewlett-Packard verkaufte. Andreessen ist auch Mitbegründer von Ning, einem Unternehmen, das eine Plattform für Social-Networking-Websites bietet. Er ist Mitglied des Verwaltungsrats von Meta Platforms.
