Kevin Avruch

Kevin Avruch (* 22. Februar 1950 in Brooklyn, New York) ist ein US-amerikanischer Anthropologe und Soziologe und Dekan der School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution an der George Mason University. Er ist Henry Hart Rice Professor für Konfliktlösung und Professor für Anthropologie. Er promovierte 1978 in Anthropologie an der University of California, San Diego, wo er bereits 1973 einen Master of Arts in Anthropologie erworben hatte. Sein Bachelor of Arts erhielt er an der University of Chicago. Avruch trat 1980 der Fakultät der George Mason University bei, nachdem er zuvor an der University of Illinois und der University of California, San Diego, gelehrt hatte. Er hat außerdem an der Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies an der University of Malta, der Kroc School of Peace Studies an der University of San Diego, der United Nations University for Peace in Costa Rica sowie für das Program in Conflict Resolution an der Sabancı University in Istanbul gelehrt. 2011 war er Fulbright-Spezialist an der Banaras Hindu University.
