Jahrhunderts und ist bekannt als Mitbegründer der kubistischen Bewegung, als Erfinder der konstruierten Skulptur, als Miterfinder der Collage und für die große Vielfalt an Stilen, die er mitentwickelt und erforscht hat. Zu seinen berühmtesten Werken zählen die proto-kubistischen Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) und das Antikriegsgemälde Guernica (1937), eine dramatische Darstellung der Bombardierung von Guernica durch deutsche und italienische Luftstreitkräfte während des Spanischen Bürgerkriegs. |
