Zakas (born November 7, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois) was a Republican member of the Indiana State Senate. He represented the state's 11th state senate district from his initial successful election in 1982 through 2018. He replaced Dan Manion. Zakas was the Republican nominee for Indiana's 3rd congressional district in 1996. He was defeated in the general election by Democrat Tim Roemer. Zakas lost renomination to the State Senate in 2018. |
