Vikram Adve

Vikram Adve is Donald B. Gillies professor in the Department of Computer Science and a Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a co-founder and co-director of the Center for Digital Agriculture and leads AIFARMS, a $20M National Artificial Intelligence Research Institute funded by NIFA and NSF. He served as interim head of the Department of Computer Science from 2017 and 2019. His research group created the LLVM compiler infrastructure project. His research interests include compilers and programming languages, and their use toward edge computing, software security, system reliability, and parallel programming. Adve along with other main authors were given the 2012 ACM Software System Award for the LLVM software system.
