Beschreibung | Sherman Martin Austin (geboren am 10. April 1983) ist ein US-amerikanischer Anarchist und Musiker, der wegen aufrührerischer Inhalte auf seiner Website verhaftet und anschließend verurteilt wurde. Er war der erste Mensch, der erfolgreich nach dem US-Bundesgesetz „Explosive Materials Act“ strafrechtlich verfolgt wurde, das die Verbreitung von Informationen über Sprengstoffe unter Strafe stellt, wenn diese Informationen in dem Wissen oder mit der Absicht bereitgestellt werden, dass sie zur Begehung eines Gewaltverbrechens auf Bundesebene verwendet werden. Austin wurde 2002 im Rahmen einer Vereinbarung über das Strafmaß verurteilt und verbüßte eine einjährige Haftstrafe in einem Bundesgefängnis. Einige Wissenschaftler und Aktivisten, darunter Zack de la Rocha von Rage Against the Machine, protestierten gegen die Strafverfolgung von Austin. |
