Beschreibung | Peter Seamus O'Toole (/oʊˈtuːl/; 2. August 1932 - 14. Dezember 2013) war ein britischer Bühnen- und Filmschauspieler. Er besuchte die Royal Academy of Dramatic Art und begann am Theater zu arbeiten, wo er als Shakespeare-Darsteller am Bristol Old Vic und bei der English Stage Company bekannt wurde. 1959 gab er sein Debüt im West End in The Long and the Short and the Tall und spielte 1963 die Titelrolle in Hamlet in der ersten Produktion des National Theatre. Während er auf der Londoner Bühne brillierte, war O'Toole abseits der Bühne für seinen Lebensstil als "Hellraiser" bekannt. |
