Beschreibung | Naomi Judd (geboren als Diana Ellen Judd; 11. Januar 1946 - 30. April 2022) war eine amerikanische Sängerin und Schauspielerin. Im Jahr 1980 gründete sie zusammen mit ihrer Tochter Wynonna das Duo The Judds, das mit fünf Grammy Awards und neun Country Music Association Awards sehr erfolgreich wurde. Die Judds hörten 1991 auf aufzutreten, nachdem bei Naomi Hepatitis diagnostiziert worden war. Wynonna trat zwar weiterhin als Solokünstlerin auf, kam aber gelegentlich mit ihrer Mutter für Tourneen als The Judds wieder zusammen. Naomi kämpfte ihr ganzes Leben lang mit psychischen Problemen. Sie starb an einer selbst zugefügten Schusswunde am 30. April 2022, einen Tag bevor sie und Wynonna in die Country Music Hall of Fame aufgenommen wurden. |
