Beschreibung | Martin Louis Amis (geboren am 25. August 1949) ist ein britischer Romanautor, Essayist, Memoirenschreiber und Drehbuchautor. Er ist vor allem für seine Romane Money (1984) und London Fields (1989) bekannt. Für seine Memoiren Experience erhielt er den James Tait Black Memorial Prize und wurde zweimal für den Booker Prize nominiert (1991 für Time's Arrow auf der Shortlist und 2003 für Yellow Dog auf der Longlist). Amis war bis 2011 Professor für kreatives Schreiben am Centre for New Writing der Universität Manchester. Im Jahr 2008 wurde er von der Times zu einem der fünfzig größten britischen Schriftsteller seit 1945 ernannt. |
