Harvey Forbes Fierstein (/ˈfaɪərˌstiːn/ FIRE-steen; geboren am 6. Juni 1952) ist ein amerikanischer Schauspieler, Dramatiker und Drehbuchautor. Er ist vor allem für seine Theaterarbeit in der Torch Song Trilogy und Hairspray sowie für seine Filmrollen in Mrs. Doubtfire, Independence Day und als Stimme von Yao in Mulan und Mulan II bekannt. Für die Torch Song Trilogy gewann Fierstein zwei Tony Awards: Bester Schauspieler in einem Theaterstück und Bestes Theaterstück. Für das Musical La Cage aux Folles erhielt er seinen dritten Tony Award für das beste Buch eines Musicals und für die Rolle der Edna Turnblad in Hairspray seinen vierten Tony Award für den besten Darsteller in einem Musical. Fierstein schrieb auch das Buch für die mit dem Tony Award ausgezeichneten Musicals Kinky Boots, Newsies und das für den Tony Award nominierte und mit dem Drama League Award ausgezeichnete A Catered Affair. Im Jahr 2007 wurde er in die American Theater Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
