Beschreibung | Enid Nemy (* 4. Oktober 1924) war viele Jahre lang Reporterin und Kolumnistin für The New York Times. Sie begann ihre Tätigkeit bei der Zeitung im Jahr 1963 und blieb vier Jahrzehnte bis zu ihrem Ruhestand dort. Im Jahr 1984 erhielt sie den Matrix Award „für Leistungen in Zeitungen und Nachrichtenagenturen“. Nach ihrer Pensionierung verfasste sie gelegentlich Todesanzeigen für bedeutende New Yorker (u. a. Enid A. Haupt, Bill Blass, Eugene Lang, Lucille Lortel, Betsey Whitney, Patricia Buckley, Leona Helmsley und Elaine Kaufman) sowie für ausgewählte weitere Personen (Larry Hagman). |
Even at the United Nations, where legend has it that the building was designed so that there could be no corner offices, the expanse of glass in individual offices is said to be a dead giveaway as to rank. Five windows are excellent, one window not so great.
