Beschreibung | Doris May Lessing CH OMG (geb. Tayler; 22. Oktober 1919 - 17. November 2013) war eine britisch-simbabwische Schriftstellerin. Sie wurde als Tochter britischer Eltern im Iran geboren, wo sie bis 1925 lebte. Ihre Familie zog dann nach Südrhodesien (heute Simbabwe), wo sie bis zu ihrem Umzug nach London, England, im Jahr 1949 blieb. Zu ihren Romanen gehören The Grass Is Singing (1950), die fünf Romane umfassende Reihe Children of Violence (1952-1969), The Golden Notebook (1962), The Good Terrorist (1985) und die fünf Romane, die unter dem Titel Canopus in Argos: Archives (1979-1983) zusammengefasst sind. |
