Februar 1992), die unter dem Namen Angela Carter veröffentlichte, war eine englische Romanautorin, Kurzgeschichtenschreiberin, Dichterin und Journalistin, bekannt für ihre feministischen, magisch-realistischen und picaresken Werke. Am bekanntesten ist sie für ihr 1979 veröffentlichtes Buch The Bloody Chamber. Im Jahr 2008 belegte Carter in der Liste der „50 größten britischen Schriftsteller seit 1945“ der Zeitung The Times den zehnten Platz. Im Jahr 2012 wurde „Nights at the Circus“ zum besten Gewinner des James Tait Black Memorial Prize gekürt. |
