He attended Columbia University where he won the 1984 Hermann Trophy as the college player of the year. He was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Soccer Team and earned a total 8 caps, scoring no goals between 1984 and 1985. He was a member of the U.S. National Soccer Team 1980–1987, including the 1981 FIFA World Youth Championship in Australia. He scored two of the U.S. team's four goals in the 1980 China Great Wall Tournament. He appeared in one match at the 1983 Pan American Games and two matches at the 1987 Pan American Games, but these are not considered full internationals. |
