Beschreibung | Ansel Easton Adams (20. Februar 1902 - 22. April 1984) war ein amerikanischer Landschaftsfotograf und Umweltschützer, der für seine Schwarz-Weiß-Aufnahmen des amerikanischen Westens bekannt war. Er war Mitbegründer der Gruppe f/64, einer Vereinigung von Fotografen, die sich für eine "reine" Fotografie einsetzte, bei der die Schärfe und die Nutzung des gesamten Tonwertumfangs eines Fotos im Vordergrund standen. Er und Fred Archer entwickelten ein anspruchsvolles System der Bildgestaltung, das so genannte Zonensystem, eine Methode zur Erzielung eines gewünschten Endabzugs durch ein tiefes technisches Verständnis dafür, wie der Tonwertumfang während der Belichtung, der Negativentwicklung und des Drucks aufgezeichnet und entwickelt wird. Die daraus resultierende Klarheit und Tiefe der Bilder ist charakteristisch für seine Fotografie. |
