Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (/ˈɛlɪnɔːr ˈroʊzəvɛlt/) (11. Oktober 1884 - 7. November 1962) war eine amerikanische Politikerin, Diplomatin und Aktivistin. Sie war von 1933 bis 1945, während der vier Amtszeiten ihres Mannes, Präsident Franklin D. Roosevelt, die First Lady der Vereinigten Staaten und damit die dienstälteste First Lady der USA. Roosevelt war von 1945 bis 1952 Delegierte der Vereinigten Staaten in der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen und wurde 1948 von der Versammlung bei der Verabschiedung der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte mit stehenden Ovationen bedacht. Präsident Harry S. Truman nannte sie später in Anerkennung ihrer Verdienste um die Menschenrechte die "First Lady of the World".
