Beschreibung | Corey David Johnson (born April 28, 1982) is an American Democratic Party politician who served as Speaker of the New York City Council from January 2018 to January 2022. He has generally been considered a progressive. Johnson was first elected to the Council as the member for the 3rd district in 2013. At the time, Johnson was the first out gay man to serve as speaker, and the only openly HIV-positive politician in New York State. |
